Seca success story could not have been possible if a brave young entrepreneur did not believe in his innovative idea . The Year 1840 was the birth of SECA , a market leader. Alois Quintenz, a mechanic who worked for a Monk who had already invented decimal scales. Alois Quintenz acquired the knowledge and shifted to Hamburg where A.C.C Joachims founded Germany’s first scale industry which produced decimal scales and column scales. In 1988 Mechanical Engineer Frederik Vogel purchased the scale factory and introduced the Brand Name “seca” . In 1904 Frederik Vogel moved the company to Hammer Steindamm where headquarter of seca is still located. The baton of seca was acquired by Frederik Vogel’s son Robert in 1934 who later on passed the company to his son Sönke Vogel in 1970 who changed the focus of Seca to Medical Industry, sowing the seeds of a Market Leader Medical Weighing and Measurement company with focus of precision, accuracy and dependability. In coming years seca developed innovative products and solutions for Medical industry and in 2001 seca received most prestigious red dot design award for intelligent design incorporation in its seca 664 wheelchair weighing scale which offered a unique solution for patients using wheelchairs or weak and fragile patients who are unable to stand during weight measurement. Seca was looking for an ideal channel partner for Indian Market who could represent Seca with same passion and dedication. In 2008 Seca appointed Scorpia Indian Medicare Pvt Ltd., a reputed Medical Equipment Sales and service company which was established in 1995 and had a long rich experience in sales and service of Hi tech medical Equipment’s. Year 2010 was the year for fourth generation to take seca gmbh ahead. Seca is now in hands Robert Vogel ( CEO Marketing and Sales) and Frederik Vogel ( CEO Development and Manufacturing). In 2011 after years of research and development seca launched seca medical body composition analyser (mBCA) based on bioimpedance technology setting new standards. seca body composition analyser helps in non invasive analysis of Body fat calculation, visceral fat, body fat percentage, fat free mass, body water and many more parameters which are helpful in weight loss, managing diabetes mellitus / diabetes type 2, Dialysis, sports Medicine and many more fields. Year 2015 marked completion of 175 years of excellence. Since 1840 seca has today a global market leader in field of medical measuring and weighing having presence in more than 110 countries. In year 2018 seca launched it’s first sopt-check-monitor mVSA which not only integrated multiple vital sign monitoring but also had advanced features like wireless data transmission and integration with hospital’s EMR system. Launch of Scale-up Line marked start a new era in medical weighing and measurement . Scale-up line offered modular solutions for entire hospital needs. With Scale-up line weight and height measurements could be shared through EMR system thanks to Seca’s Software, hardware and service team efforts which created various success stories of even complex IT integration challenges. Today in addition to sales through 18 branch offices, seca products are exported to over 110 countries.
